Extremely Local, right off Gibson Blvd SE, they thoroughly checked out my car, used car FAX to tell me the last time different services were rendered to my vehicle. Made appointment for next week: Indeed, I need new brakes, the front more that the back, the air filters need replacement ( I do that myself), they will flush my radiator. My battery is okay for now. I felt safe, the prices are affordable and sound fair, one stop shop. I will return. Fantastic!

I am done with Brake Masters. The folks working here are great, but the pricing structure has officially scared me off.
I stopped in today to ask about rotating my tires because I noticed considerably more tread remaining on the rear tires than the fronts. I was quoted $80 for a tire rotation.
What made that especially frustrating was being told that tire rotations are free with an oil change—because I had my oil changed at this same location only about two weeks ago.
Yes, I didn’t specifically ask for a tire rotation at that visit. But if you’re performing a complimentary inspection and there’s enough difference in front-to-rear tread wear to warrant a rotation, why wasn’t it recommended then, when it would have been complimentary?
This comes after I was previously quoted roughly $100 to replace my engine air filter. I bought the correct filter myself for about $15, and replacing it took me approximately 90 seconds.
For comparison, a shop literally across the street quoted me $24.99 for the same basic tire rotation, with no appointment necessary.
I understand businesses have labor costs and need to make a profit. I don’t expect anyone to work for free. But $80 versus $24.99 for a tire rotation, combined with roughly $100 for an engine air filter I replaced myself for $15 in 90 seconds, is simply too much of a difference for me to ignore.
I’ve used Brake Masters and previously thought highly enough of this location to keep coming back. Unfortunately, their pricing has now convinced me to take my routine maintenance elsewhere.

Julian and Jonathan took awesome care of us. This is the second time we’ve brought our car for maintenance and repairs, and we’ve found them to be honest about what needed to be done as well as what didn’t need to be done. Prices were reasonable and we’re grateful to find some good, honest mechanics who take the time to explain and give great options…even if it’s outside their area of expertise, they’ll recommend someone who can help.
